About

Bridging Phonics

Bridging Phonics helps parents and private tutors record and explain early reading progress through phonics. It supports the phonics a child is already learning at school—complementing, not replacing, the school’s systematic synthetic phonics programme. Create pupil profiles, record adult judgements about letter–sound correspondences, see what is being practised and what may need checking, and generate clear progress summaries. Parents can practise with and track up to two children for free. Designed primarily for children in Reception to Year 2 (EYFS/KS1). It can also support older pupils who need additional help with decoding and children learning English as an additional language (EAL), when used as part of an appropriate teaching approach. Tutor Access is a subscription that adds tools for managing multiple pupils, establishing starting points, linking with parents, logging sessions, organising cohorts, planning what to practise next and exporting progress records. Progress records reflect judgements made by the adult who recorded them. They are not standardised, accredited or school assessments, and Bridging Phonics does not certify that a child has mastered a correspondence. Tutor Access is an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm your purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings.
