Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: 百度输入法 at 4.4 against 东方输入法's 3.3. 百度输入法 also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 3) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). 东方输入法's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 28) and review sentiment (67% vs 59%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 百度输入法 sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. 东方输入法 asks for nothing beyond the download.
百度输入法 holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 百度输入法 has 1.6K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of 百度输入法's written reviews are positive against 67% of 东方输入法's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
百度输入法 ships an update every 6 days, 东方输入法 every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
