Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: WDR 5 at 92% against sharemagazines's 57%. WDR 5 also leads on ratings volume (7 vs 1). sharemagazines's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
sharemagazines holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WDR 5 has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of sharemagazines's written reviews are positive against 92% of WDR 5's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
sharemagazines ships an update monthly, WDR 5 every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
