Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Widget Custom HomeScreen at 4.1 against Widgets.'s 3.4. Widget Custom HomeScreen also leads on ratings volume (2.8K vs 285). Widgets.'s advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Widget Custom HomeScreen sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Widgets. asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Widget Custom HomeScreen holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Widget Custom HomeScreen has 2.8K ratings behind it against 285, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Widgets.'s written reviews are positive against 26% of Widget Custom HomeScreen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Widgets. ships an update every 3 weeks, Widget Custom HomeScreen monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
