Give each hour its own sound. Sono is a soundscape clock for iPhone and iPad that turns a changing ambient soundtrack into a glance-free sense of time. Your hourly soundscape Assign an ambient sound to any of the 24 hours. Hours without an assigned sound play Background, an original softened-pink noise loop with Quiet and Very quiet levels. Sounds loop continuously and crossfade when the hour or saved assignment changes. Playback and your screen Sono starts paused and remembers your explicit Play or Pause choice. Tap Play sound to start your schedule; Pause stops all sound. Ambient playback can continue when you lock your device or switch apps. A phone call, Siri or another app’s audio may pause Sono; if it does not resume by itself, open Sono and tap Resume sound. Automatic time announcements happen only while Sono is on screen and playback is running. Keep screen awake is optional and Off by default on a new installation. Once playback starts, standard system Now Playing controls show the current sound and offer Play/Pause. Fifteen ambient sounds plus Background Rain, Waves, Wind, Fireplace, Stream, Traffic, Extractor Fan, White Noise, Pink Noise and Red Noise, joined by Night Insects, Dawn Chorus, Frog Chorus, Windy Marina and Train. All sounds and the original Background loop are included in the app; no downloads or streaming are needed. A speaking clock Tap Speak time to hear the current local time. You can also choose announcements every hour, 30, 15, 10, 5 or 1 minute while Sono is on screen and playback is running. Automatic announcements do not run in the background. Choose an available voice for the speaking clock, or keep System default. Selecting a voice speaks the current time so you can hear your choice. Bedside mode Enter a distraction-free screen where a single tap anywhere speaks the time. Press and hold anywhere to return. You can choose whether Sono keeps the screen awake while active.
