Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: OpenMaps at 3.9 against Vectorial Map Lite's 1.0. OpenMaps also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (16 vs 1). Vectorial Map Lite's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vectorial Map Lite sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and OpenMaps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
OpenMaps holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OpenMaps has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Vectorial Map Lite's written reviews are positive against 10% of OpenMaps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Vectorial Map Lite ships an update every 5 months, OpenMaps every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
