The clearest difference is rating: Freespoke at 4.6 against Compass++'s 3.6. Freespoke also leads on review sentiment (42% vs 13%) and ratings volume (4.6K vs 464). Both are free to download. Compass++ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Freespoke sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Freespoke holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freespoke has 4.6K ratings behind it against 464, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 13% of Compass++'s written reviews are positive against 42% of Freespoke's.
Compass++ ships an update monthly, Freespoke every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
