Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Stopwatch & Countdown at 4.1 against Timy's 3.6. Timy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Stopwatch & Countdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Stopwatch & Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 19 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Timy's written reviews are positive against 42% of Stopwatch & Countdown's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Timy ships an update every 4 days, Stopwatch & Countdown every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
