Provided by the Nuclear Data Section of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the app gives properties of more than 4 000 nuclides and isomers. A Chart of Nuclides, with zooming and tapping enabled, and a Periodic Table of Elements are included to allow easy selection and navigation. Filter criteria on half-life, decay mode, radiation type and energy can be selected. Summary data are presented in a scrolling list, with a details page for each nuclide containing web links to the data sources and further information such as level and decay schema. The filtered nuclides can be visualised on the Chart of Nuclides. Data are taken from the most recent and reliable sources, and optimal search-and-retrieve performance is achieved with an embedded database, meaning that no network connection is required.

Verdict

The call

TERC EarthLabs and Isotope Browser both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 83% of Isotope Browser's written reviews are positive against 40% of TERC EarthLabs's. Isotope Browser also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 53 months) and ratings volume (27 vs 1). TERC EarthLabs's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 11.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

TERC EarthLabs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Isotope Browser has 27 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of TERC EarthLabs's written reviews are positive against 83% of Isotope Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

TERC EarthLabs ships an update every 53 months, Isotope Browser every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
