Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MyCoast.org at none against Actual Currents's 3. MyCoast.org also leads on review sentiment (75% vs 60%). Actual Currents's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
