Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cross Virus at 100% against Blobsbuster's 16%. Cross Virus also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Blobsbuster's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 26 months) and ratings volume (7.5K vs 8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Blobsbuster holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blobsbuster has 7.5K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Cross Virus's written reviews are positive against 16% of Blobsbuster's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cross Virus ships an update every 26 months, Blobsbuster weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
