Save mixes with notes on the device, add an optional Surfactant Helper while preserving final batch size, and use the downstream tool to estimate applied strength after an injector. The free app includes the Basic SH/water calculator, unit switching, saved mixes, and limited Surfactant Helper uses. Batch-Mix Pro adds the Field Guide, Advanced Mode, and continued Surfactant Helper access after the free allowance. Subscriptions are optional and managed by the App Store. Any introductory offer is shown only when the store confirms eligibility. Batch-Mix provides estimates and general reference information. Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Batch Mix at 100% against Contacts2XL's 39%. Batch Mix also leads on price (Free vs $0.99) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). Contacts2XL's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (302 vs 7). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Batch Mix is free to download; Contacts2XL costs $0.99 up front. Batch Mix sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Contacts2XL asks for nothing beyond the download.
Contacts2XL holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Contacts2XL has 302 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Contacts2XL's written reviews are positive against 100% of Batch Mix's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Contacts2XL ships an update every 7 months, Batch Mix every 27 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
