Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MemoAssist™ at 4.3 against SubReader's 2.8. MemoAssist™ also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). SubReader's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.6). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MemoAssist™ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and SubReader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
MemoAssist™ holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of MemoAssist™'s written reviews are positive against 25% of SubReader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
MemoAssist™ ships an update every 3 days, SubReader every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
