Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: TV Remote at 4.5 against IntensityWifi's 3.0. TV Remote also leads on ratings volume (429 vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). IntensityWifi's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and review sentiment (25% vs 12%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TV Remote sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. IntensityWifi asks for nothing beyond the download.
TV Remote holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TV Remote has 429 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of IntensityWifi's written reviews are positive against 12% of TV Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
IntensityWifi ships an update every 4 months, TV Remote every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 18, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
