MEET SEECO, THE FIRST OFFLINE-ORIENTED ONLINE APP Overview Seeco is looking to change the way people think they are starting a real connection with other people today. We provide them with a tool to actually meet people in the real world. We don't allow endless chatting, with Seeco we create a "let's do this" culture, and that's what's missing today. And the great thing is that people will have a new option for that extra show ticket that would go to waste, they just post a hang in the concert venue and immediately know who will make them company, last minute! What does it do? How does it work? New York City may fool you with the amount of people you see on a daily basis, but in fact it is one of the hardest cities to make friends and engage in social activities. After all, everybody is so busy! Eight and a half million people in this city and it is still really hard to find real connectedness. Add the fact that you are shy, for example, and it is even harder for you. Do you often say you are open to new friends but still rely on smartphones for meeting people? Doesn’t it make you waste time? And the results you get, are they what you expected at all? People are always looking for company in this city, especially because many people are not from here, and therefore have to make brand new friends from zero once they arrive. Over 3 million people in the city are foreign-born and over one-quarter of the population arrived in 2000 or later. This does not even include Americans from other States. So how can we solve this problem? Technology is not the answer. Our product is not even the answer either. It is a means to the solution. Seeco is an app to put you in touch with flesh-and-blood human beings. It goes against the idea that technology approximates people. With this app, you post a gathering (aka “hang”), establish the size of the company with which you would want to go, let’s say, to a bar or a restaurant, and people join in and show up at the place you are in to see you, instead of chatting with you online for God knows how long. Chatting is used for logistical purposes (e.g.: “what’s your ETA?”), and hangs MUST happen within the rest of the day they are created, or within the whole following day. Postponing and flakiness are things of the past. You can see the people and their basic info (including their hang rating and past hangs), and the hang host can accept or refuse company. Seeco is an app for anyone who has ever needed a partner in crime — Business meeting cancelled for lunch? Care to meet fellow freelancers for coworking? Want to grab drinks but don’t know who to call? Seeco is here for anyone who’s seeking company. You can create your own events by selecting a time and place within the next 24 hours, along with how many new faces you’d like to meet. Seeco is a platform tailored to help you meet new friends with similar interests. Seeco can bring strangers together to go jogging, discuss entrepreneurship over dinner, promote their bartending shifts, or make company to each other in a show with their favorite artist. Seeco believes that when there's a will, there's a way, and it is here to end the pointless chatting and make actual face-to-face meetings a reality. No idea what to do in the city, but want to spend some time with others? Just scroll through Seeco’s map or list of events and see what everyone is up to. When you find the perfect fit, press ‘Join’ and be added to the list of attendees, where you can then chat with the group before you meet.
