The clearest difference is rating: Trend Micro ScamCheck at 4.6 against Ebroji's 4.1. Trend Micro ScamCheck also leads on ratings volume (2.3K vs 88). Both are free to download. Trend Micro ScamCheck sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Ebroji asks for nothing beyond the download.
Trend Micro ScamCheck holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trend Micro ScamCheck has 2.3K ratings behind it against 88, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Ebroji's written reviews are positive against 42% of Trend Micro ScamCheck's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Ebroji ships an update every 4 weeks, Trend Micro ScamCheck every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
