Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Alkaid at Free against Favorite Contacts!'s $2.99. Alkaid also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). Favorite Contacts!'s advantage is ratings volume (255 vs 2) and iOS requirement (9.1 vs 17.6). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Alkaid is free to download; Favorite Contacts! costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Alkaid holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Favorite Contacts! has 255 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
