Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Crimpd at 83% against BrookesSport's 40%. Crimpd also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (100 vs 4). BrookesSport's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Crimpd sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. BrookesSport asks for nothing beyond the download.
BrookesSport holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crimpd has 100 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of BrookesSport's written reviews are positive against 83% of Crimpd's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
BrookesSport ships an update every 2 months, Crimpd every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
