Verdict
20 Clues and Quiz both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of 20 Clues's written reviews are positive against 39% of Quiz's. 20 Clues also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (494 vs 73). Quiz's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 8 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 20 Clues sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Quiz sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for 20 Clues against 4.5 for Quiz. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 20 Clues has 494 ratings behind it against 73, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 92% of 20 Clues's written reviews are positive against 39% of Quiz's.
20 Clues ships an update every 8 months, Quiz every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
