Pomodoro Technique is a time management method by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s. There are six steps in the original technique: 1. Decide on the task to be done. 2. Set the pomodoro timer (traditionally to 25 minutes). 3. Work on the task. 4. End work when the timer rings and put a checkmark on a piece of paper. 5. If you have fewer than four checkmarks, take a short break (3–5 minutes) and then return to step 2; otherwise continue to step 6. 6. After four pomodoros, take a longer break (15–30 minutes), reset your checkmark count to zero, then go to step 1. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Pomodoro Daily at free with in-app purchases against Focus's subscription. Pomodoro Daily also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.4) and review sentiment (79% vs 57%). Focus's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 99) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Pomodoro Daily sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Pomodoro Daily holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus has 1.8K ratings behind it against 99, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of Focus's written reviews are positive against 79% of Pomodoro Daily's.
Focus ships an update every 10 days, Pomodoro Daily monthly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
