Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: ModeSens at none against Alvoy's shown. ModeSens also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (3.5K vs 5). Alvoy's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Alvoy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ModeSens has 3.5K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of ModeSens's written reviews are positive against 100% of Alvoy's.
ModeSens ships an update every 11 days, Alvoy every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
