The FoodKeeper can help consumers use food while at peak quality and reduce waste. The storage times listed are intended as useful guidelines and are not hard-and-fast rules. Some foods may deteriorate more quickly while others may last longer than the times suggested. The times will vary depending on the growing conditions, harvesting techniques, manufacturing processes, transportation and distribution conditions, nature of the food, and storage temperatures. Remember to buy foods in reasonable quantities and rotate the products in your pantry, refrigerator, and freezer. Every year, billions of pounds of good food go to waste in the U.S. because consumers are not sure of its quality or safety. Food waste from households represents about 44% of all food waste generated in the U.S. By reducing food waste through buying appropriate quantities, storing foods properly, cooking what is needed and composting, consumers can save money and reduce the amount of food going to landfills.

Plan meals around the food you already own. Pantry Snapper tracks what is in your pantry, fridge, and freezer, shows what to use first, and turns meal shortages into a shopping list. One purchase, no subscription, no account. NEW IN 5.0 • Plan tab: a use-first list built from your own package dates, showing what each item still needs and how much is already covered by planned meals. One tap drafts a meal with the soonest items. • Next 7 days: every queued meal laid out by day. • Shopping for planned meals: shortages across queued meals go onto your shopping list in one tap, without duplicating rows you already have. • Barcode memory: save a scanned item once and the next scan fills in its name, category, storage place, price, and reminder lead. Products are learned only from your own pantry, on this device. • Widgets: a quick-action widget for the Home and Lock Screen and a "Scan Groceries" control for Control Center. They show no pantry contents. • Siri and Shortcuts: add to your shopping list, or ask what still needs a meal. TRACK YOUR FOOD • Scan barcodes, read labels and printed dates from photos, or type an item. Recognition runs on device. • A storage guide of about 300 common foods with pantry, fridge, freezer, and opened timelines, based on USDA FoodKeeper guidance. • Reminders before tracked dates, custom storage places, and filters for use-soon and past-date items. MEAL QUEUE Reserve counted pantry units for named meals, see shortages across all queued meals, and update inventory only when you confirm what you cooked. INSIGHTS AND YOUR DATA Waste and savings insights from items you mark used or tossed. Full backup and restore (photos, meals, shopping list, scanned products) and CSV export. WHAT TO KNOW Package dates and storage times are quality guidance, not food-safety decisions. Follow package and storage instructions. Units are the counts you enter, not grams or servings. Barcodes are not looked up online; a new barcode starts blank until you save it once. Built for iPhone and iPad. Everything stays on your device.
