Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Solitaire Tile at 4.7 against Spite & Malice LITE's 2.4. Solitaire Tile also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (3.7K vs 7). Spite & Malice LITE's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spite & Malice LITE sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Solitaire Tile sells 13 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Solitaire Tile holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Solitaire Tile has 3.7K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Spite & Malice LITE's written reviews are positive against 15% of Solitaire Tile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Spite & Malice LITE ships an update every 5 months, Solitaire Tile every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
