Loadouts is a free application allowing players of Bungie's Destiny to move items between their characters and create presets for different situations (such as weapon burns, PvP/PvE, and whatever else). With its intelligent algorithm you don't have to worry which items are where — Loadouts will figure out what has to be moved, automatically offload extra items to the Vault if there's not enough slots available, take care of Exotic item equipping constraints and whatnot. Simply choose what you want on your character, push the Transfer button and there you go! To use: - Tap and select as many items as you want - Double tap to equip the item (selection will turn green) - Tap and hold to favorite items so they appear on top of the section - Choose the character you want to move the item in the left sidebar - Click the green Transfer button to get selected items on that character - Watch Loadouts move items across - Voilà! 3D Touch is now also fully supported to quickly Max Light your characters or inspect an item. Enjoy! The app is evolving and we are listening. Loadouts for Destiny will remain free to use and without ad banners. It is authors contribution and a way to say «Thank you» to the whole Destiny community and Bungie. Try it and let @slavikus know what you think! Keep the feedback coming, guardian!

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MapGenie at 4.8 against Loadouts for Destiny's 4.2. MapGenie also leads on ratings volume (2.6K vs 353). Loadouts for Destiny's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 26 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Loadouts for Destiny sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
MapGenie holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MapGenie has 2.6K ratings behind it against 353, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Loadouts for Destiny's written reviews are positive against 56% of MapGenie's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Loadouts for Destiny ships an update fortnightly, MapGenie every 26 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
