Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: 1 at none against Five's shown. 1 also leads on update cadence (daily vs fortnightly) and review sentiment (100% vs 87%). Five's advantage is ratings volume (57 vs 5). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Five sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and 1 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Five against 4.8 for 1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Five has 57 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 87% of Five's written reviews are positive against 100% of 1's.
Five ships an update fortnightly, 1 daily. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
