Cornell Pump Toolkit The right mobile app to answer your questions about centrifugal pumps! This mobile app can be used to calculate: · Total Dynamic Head · Net Positive Suction Head · Friction Loss · And, save and share your calculations Plus, suggest pumps from Cornell’s robust and efficient catalog to meet your system needs. Cornell Pump Toolkit can be used on Apple devices—allowing functionality without needing to be connected to the internet. The application is free—ideal for use by project managers, engineers, operators, mechanics, and distributors in agricultural, industrial, municipal, mining, and rental applications. Please Note: Cornell Toolkit is used as an approximating tool for pumps and systems. While the Cornell Toolkit has been examined by Cornell staff, including professional engineers, and found to be accurate, Cornell offers more detailed and precise calculations through tools available on our website. Cornell Toolkit is a quick check for in field operations, and narrowing pump selections. Calculations are made assuming 60 degree Fahrenheit water; water at significantly different temperatures or liquids with different specific gravity may yield substantially divergent results. Piping friction loss is calculated using Hazen-Williams hydraulic equations—as the diameter of pipes get smaller than 3” or larger than 12” there is less accuracy in the calculation that is not corrected by the toolkit. Care should be used in comparing smaller or larger piping with the toolkit.

Flowserve Academy The Flowserve Academy is intended to give customers access to a wide range of industry expertise including best practices, product knowledge, and digital solutions. Currently, the platform offers four valuable tools, the Educational Services Digital Course Catalog, Mechanical Seal Piping Plans App, Seal Failure Analysis App, and Cyberlab Pump Simulator. Educational Services Digital Course Catalog Provides companies around the world with a wide range of innovative programs focused on helping plant operators, reliability engineers, and maintenance personnel to deepen their understanding of pumping systems. Cyberlab Pump Simulator CYBERLAB brings the reality of pumps, seals, and systems to the classroom. Students learn safe equipment startup procedures, how failures can occur, affinity laws, how pump operations affect seal temperature, effects of seal piping plans, and more. With CYBERLAB, participants can get virtual “hands-on” experience to more equipment than we could ever pack into a classroom. Mechanical Seal Piping Plans App Flowserve recognizes one of the most effective ways to achieve long, uninterrupted mechanical seal life is to create a healthy environment around the seal faces. Piping plans help keep mechanical seals running cool and clean, promote safe handling of dangerous fluids, and extend the operational availability of rotating equipment. This app provides a concise summary of the most essential piping plans used successfully in today’s process plants. Each plan shows all the standard and optional auxiliary components referenced in ISO 21049 / API Standard 682 and recommended by Flowserve Seal Failure Analysis App The Flowserve Seal Failure Analysis app is a web-based tool designed to visually identify and prevent mechanical seal failures. Accessible via desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, this easy-to-use reference tool is an invaluable resource to maintenance technicians, maintenance supervisors, and reliability engineers tasked with troubleshooting seal failures, maintaining equipment, and maximizing uptime.
