Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Grofig at free with in-app purchases against Young Hollywood's subscription. Grofig also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 months). Young Hollywood's advantage is ratings volume (30 vs 3) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Young Hollywood sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month and Grofig sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Grofig holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Young Hollywood has 30 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Young Hollywood ships an update every 3 months, Grofig every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
