Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Escape Game at 5.0 against Brainess's 4.3. Brainess's advantage is monetization model (free vs paid) and ratings volume (199 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Escape Game holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brainess has 199 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Brainess's written reviews are positive against 50% of Escape Game's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Brainess ships an update every 3 months, Escape Game every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
