Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: VR Rowing at none against VR Funfair's 8. VR Funfair's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and rating (2.9 vs 2.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VR Funfair sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. VR Rowing asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

VR Funfair holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VR Funfair has 63 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of VR Funfair's written reviews are positive against 50% of VR Rowing's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

VR Funfair ships an update every 3 weeks, VR Rowing every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
