Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Sonic | Water Eject at 81% against STUDIO 21's 35%. Sonic | Water Eject also leads on ratings volume (21K vs 9) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). STUDIO 21's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

STUDIO 21 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sonic | Water Eject has 21K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Sonic | Water Eject's written reviews are positive against 35% of STUDIO 21's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Sonic | Water Eject ships an update every 2 weeks, STUDIO 21 every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
