Oklahoma Municipal League (OML)’s Empowered Directory helps anyone Register as OML members, and helps members Search, Select and Connect. The members are spread-out across various locations and connect via several email domains (not limited to oml.org). Having a publicly available App will help the interested potential/prospect members to register as OML members via the Sign up link in the App. OML’s Empowered Directory improves connections and real-world partnerships meet real-life challenges with real-time collaboration. Because, OML’s Empowered Directory is available anywhere anytime. Old directories were based on knowing the right person’s last name, but OML’s Empowered Directory lets you search and get updates based on many different criteria and filters, including a toggle for proximity search. Then, the best matches are displayed on a search-results page that allows you to compare and contrast criteria. Click on any results to get detailed profiles, including education, certifications, maps to location, presentations and more. Then reach out through built-in communication tools to email, telephone or chat live, while staying up-to-date on issues of interest to all of OML through push notifications, web links and announcements. Now that all OML members have all of this knowledge and reach right in their pockets, their shared work as the nucleus of local government throughout the state is easier. They can connect with mayors, city managers, municipal and state officials, experts, vendors and every other leader statewide, as well as each of their resources, so that they and their cities can benefit from shared knowledge. Having created face-to-face and digital experiences for its membership, OML’s Empowered Directory is an important means to extend member benefits. By harnessing the resources its collective membership has accumulated in new and better, phygital ways, OML continues to accelerate its members’ collaboration. This is especially important when virtual connections are at least as important as traditional in-person gatherings. Now, mobile directory information can better empower and connect OML’s members while making the League’s unique networking resources more easily available on behalf of members. These members can now identify and connect with exactly the right specialist, based on detailed profiles, freeing them from having to settle for just alphabetical listings by last name, vague job title or an unreliable website search. Further, even at the most successful in-person conferences, members often have to choose in a split second in whom to invest precious networking time, with little more to go on than a name badge and a handshake. These tools are wholly inadequate for truly productive networking, leaving members with the professional equivalent of a blind date. Sometimes it works out, but the odds don’t favor it. Equipped with OML’s Empowered Directory, on the other hand, members are now able to familiarize themselves immediately with prospective colleagues’ credentials and experience at a glance, even before the initial contact. Users will be able to instantly compare and contrast groups of individuals with similar backgrounds, contact them through channels of their choice, and even locate each in proximity to their current location. Features can include: Search Keyword Fields Search Filters Mapping and Proximity Search Names Headshots Logos Employer Locations Proximities Member Types Website Links Highlighted Listings Click-to-Call Click-to-Email Specialization Detail Education Credentials Detail Membership Detail Push Notifications Through these features and more, OML’s Empowered Directory improves connections and collaboration. After all, anyone can sort by last name, but OML’s Empowered Directory finds who you’re looking for.
