Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Mechanic Escape at 5.0 against Désiré's 3.2. Mechanic Escape also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and price ($2.99 vs $6.99). Désiré's advantage is ratings volume (38 vs 3) and review sentiment (52% vs 43%). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Désiré costs $6.99 and Mechanic Escape $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Mechanic Escape holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Désiré has 38 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Désiré's written reviews are positive against 43% of Mechanic Escape's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Désiré ships an update every 3 months, Mechanic Escape fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
