Why do the execises test kanji?
I took beginner Japanese lessons at my local college and I know katakana and hiragana but this app expects you to order the kanji as well. I want to learn words not the kanji. It’s too much at this point.

Forces you to start a paid subscription that includes a free trial. Bait and switch. Scammy.
This is not made for Japanese
They immediately throw extremely complicated kanji here. And then asked to combine the kanji like their letters. Kanji is not spelling.
Don’t waste your time.
Basically you can not use the app if you don’t sign up. You have to get the trial and a plan. Basically they are expecting you to forget to charge you.
could be better
I think a lot of these apps really focus entirely on memorising rather than recognition. I would love to find an app or program that will actually teach me how to read and recognise the sounds of everything I’m seeing. I feel like that’s a big part of when I’m missing.

These people stole 80 dollars. You should not download this app unless you want them to take your money. This is a scam posing as a language app, they show you 4 words and then try to copy Duolingo.
SCAM!! DONT PAY FOR SUBSCRIPTION
I paid for a 1 year subscription which was around £70 only for the app to tell my my subscription has expired after 2 months. No matter what I do it will not let me use the app, I’ve even tried using the “restore purchase” function in the app but each time it tells me I have no valid subscriptions. I’ve checked in my App Store and can see the subscription is still active until 2nd May 2026 yet the app still won’t work. What a waste of £70 and there is no good way of getting in contact support for help. Hopefully they see this review and do something about it because I’d like my money back after this experience. A real shame as well because I was enjoying the app.

No learning. Just frustration.
Speech recognition has significant glitches. No way to remove romaji above kanji, and no control over exercise pacing. For me at least, it doesn’t flow naturally.

This app is clearly just a trap to get you to subscribe for free and forget so they can get their money. The quality is low in all fields. Inconsistent, garbled, very robotic pronunciation. The speech recognition is trash (it can’t even pick up the ONE word you’re supposed to pronounce sometimes). Learning new words is just silly, without context and no word-building for new, unfamiliar kanji.

They didn’t honor the 7 days free trail and charge me the full amount. Customer service is completely unresponsive. No support at all.
Thefts
I downloaded there other Spanish app recently. I did not agree to a 1 year subscription for $80!!! This is absurd and this company should not be allowed to get away with this! When I downloaded the app to try it out it gave a list of different subscription options that would take place after the free trial. I did not and would not have ever selected one year for an app that I’ve never tried especially for $80! I tried 2x to appeal this decision and was denied. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!

Larger kanji sizes please
Even when I change the the display settings on my phone I can’t get the app to display the kanji larger. Tiny and hard to distinguish.

Dark mode/Category list
I enjoy the app :) I like the variety of categories. I wish I could see the list of words that I have learned within each category. You can see the list of all the words you have learned but all the categories are mixed. I would also love if the app had a dark mode. The white light can be harsh. :)
Don’t sign up
Signed up for the trial. Wasn’t happy and was going to cancel the subscription after the 7 day period. Have been unable to find on the app when to unsubscribe. Have been charge for the full year subscription.

Don’t trust them, they say you get 7 days of free trial, and they will notify you before your free trial ends before charging you.
I was charged on the 6th day and did not get any notification about the free trial.
There is no manage subscription button in the app to manage or cancel your subscription, the restore purchase glitches the app and loads forever.

Was charged $79.99 for a free trial
I signed up for a free 7 day trial and my card was immediately charged the full amount. I have attempted to contact the developers several times and not received a response.
Scam
Tricked me into purchasing a subscription just to try it out. Apple wouldn’t refund me and app is terrible as well. Would give it less than 1 star if I could.
