User reviews

After 3 years of usage, it disappoints.

The main issues with this app that I have noticed after using it for 3 years are the following two things: 1. Spelling errors. English and Japanese spelling errors occur in JLPT vocabulary flashcards as well as the Essentials lesson flashcards. I would say that about 1 in 75 flashcards have an error. These have all existed for years and are still here which is very disappointing. For people who don’t know better, these dozens of errors may become ingrained into their knowledge and could take them a long time to weed out. 2. Discrepancies in definitions between flashcards/lack of consolidation. This issue is everywhere in the vocab flashcards. For example(and i could give 100+ examples), if you type the present tense conjugation of the japanese verb 出す(dasu), 出します(dashimasu), into the search bar, 4 individual flashcards will pop up for that verb, but all 4 have different definitions which are: 1. Send. 2. Take out/withdraw. 3. Hand in. 4. Run. If you get a japanese to english question for one of these flashcards, you wont know which of the 4 english definitions to type, so you get the question wrong unless you are lucky or you already know all 4 definitions. This needs to be simplified or streamlined or consolidated in some way, or else it makes learning a lot harder.

Other than these two significant issues that hold it back a lot, the app is great.

I like it

Please add a select option

The app is very good overall but it’s very tiring and long to select one by one each word or kanji that I want to study to put them in a list. Please add a select option to make everyone’s study easier. It’s probably easy for you to do and it’s going to improve the app a lot.

Thank you

Great App

Great for learning kanji, only problem with the app is that you can’t mass add kanji to a list, you have to go and individually select

Great app

I use this for my intensive Japanese class and it works great for the Kanji. I use the KANA app originally but when we moved to kanji I used this. Paying for the subscription or lifetime access is worth idc you plan on practicing a lot or using it for a class but just for every once in an awhile use the basic stuff is fine. Thank you for making this app. I’d say the only downside which may be my devices is the app tends to crash every once in awhile but not a big deal.
