  • How did this app get published?

I am very confused as to how an app as buggy and as blatantly misleading as this app was allowed to get through to the app store.

I have an iPhone 8, downloaded the app from the App Store, and attempted to login via my FB account, but kept getting error messages about connectivity and being unable to login and validate my account. Somehow though, the app was able to spam everyone on my contact lost with invites.

At no point did I give the app access to my friends list because I wasn’t even prompted for that. That is a direct violation of privacy and against Apple’s policies for app development.

I am a Product Manager in FinTech and have previously worked on B2C apps that have had millions of downloads. I know a little something about consumer facing apps, fraud, phishing, and poor user experience. How this got past Apple is beyond me.

  • It’s a trap

This is not a functioning app. It has you enter in your Facebook info and then it never connects you or even signs you in. It said a friend of mine sent me a gift for my birthday and when I went to download the app and login it just kept sending me in circles OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I contacted my friend that had “supposedly” sent me a gift and need my information to have it mailed and she said that she never sent me anything at all and it did the same thing to her. Her Facebook also started acting funny almost immediately. Change your password as soon as you download the app and then change your password as soon as you try to connect it to Facebook! It’s a scam! I’ve tried to report the app and so has my friend. We also put on our Facebook pages to watch out for this app and any false requests it is trying to send out on its behalf!!

Due to huge install rates we had a problem with our servers for a few hours. Sincere apologies. Please try again now - all fixed! As an extra apology please write to support@SwiftGift.me and mention this message. We will give you an extra bonus when you sign up :) Hope to see you back and maybe reconsider your rating if you like the app... :)

  • Disgusted With Companies That Don’t Recognize That Prospective Clients Have Borders!

I made the mistake of getting SwiftGift and using my facebook account to sign on. Before I knew it, SwiftGift had sent phony “comments” to all my Facebook friends saying that I had sent them a present, to get them to sign up. The person who supposedly sent me a present said she’d never heard of SwiftGift, so she must have been on someone else’s friend list. I was never able to find out what SwiftGift’s product was. It is more like a virus than a company. Avoid it! I had to give one star to post this, but it really should be no stars, or negative stars.

  • This app is terrible don’t use it

    Terrible app
  • HUGE HEADACHE!!! Do not download!

I received a notification on FB that a friend “sent me a gift” via this app. Since the link led to a legitimate app, I figured there was no harm in downloading it to check it out and see how it worked. Then I started to get messages from friends asking if I sent the very same notification about a “free gift” that my friend supposedly sent to me. I don’t mind logging in using my FB account. But for the app to send these notifications by default without my knowledge (nowhere does it tell you that you’re sending these so-called free gifts and that the notification will be sent). I hope my friends aren’t as trusting as I am and refrain from downloading this deceitful app. If they do, I’ll be sure to send them this way to leave their feedback. I gave one star because that’s the lowest allowed.

Hey there! With over 500k happy customers worldwide we can assure that we aren't spam. We offer a free gift if you invite your Facebook friends - and we give free gifts to each of them too! Please note that this is totally optional: You don't have to claim your gift, nor invite friends to enjoy our award-winning app! Apologies if anything was unclear, and we hope you reconsider and give our app a chance. We were voted "Best Gift App 2017" by apple, and we would love the chance to show you why. Thank you!
  • Spam

Spam don’t download. It sends everyone on your phone a link without you authorizing!!!
  • Facebook notifications

I am furious because this app sent notifications to my Facebook friends saying I requested or sent a gift through the app which I didn’t. This is scam like. I have older relatives who were very confused at it and will likely download it and let them message their friends too. I only selected that the app reads my birthdays. Please handle this, it is unethical or atleast make it clearer that you will do this if the permission is buried in text somewhere. Otherwise I could’ve liked the app. Now I don’t even want to use it.

I downloaded this app because I had a notification from a trusted friend saying she sent me something. I am always very cautious of this type of notification but trusted my source/friend. As soon as I downloaded the app, there was nothing waiting there for me and it decided to send the same notification to people on my friends list. Terrible way to promote an app, sending people notifications on your behalf. Total spam.
