Now, when prompting for Location permission for sorting your favourite stations on the Favourites tab, the app will only ask for permission while the app is in use. The only time the app will ask for "Always" permission is if you want to receive notifications of the next departures when you enter a station. This clarifies the reason for requesting location.

New Features: - Adds SiriKit support so you can set up voice shortcuts for your favourite stations or pinned journeys - Allows you to set "Anywhere" as the destination station for an item in your favourites, for example if you just want to see "Birmingham New Street to Anywhere" in your favourites. If you use this new feature and you also sync your favourites across devices using iCloud, be sure to update the app on all your devices to make sure it displays properly! Bug Fixes/Improvements - On the watch app when viewing a journey the app will automatically scroll to the trains current location in the calling points like the main app does - Moves the separator line between each departure to be at the bottom of the cell rather than underneath the time so its clearer which data belongs to which train - Fixes final destination calling point on the journey details screen - it previously used to show 'Departed' for the final station, instead of 'arrived', even though it's the final station.

- Now you can pin and unpin departures directly from the watch app (as long as your phone is reachable from the watch) - Fixed an issue on the Watch app where the text could overlap the edge of the watch screen - Previously the app would append "(Tomorrow)" to the time of all departures that were tomorrow. Now it will only do that if the departure is far enough into tomorrow to mean the time is ambiguous (e.g. if it's 9pm now and the departure is 9pm tomorrow)

Now if you pin any journeys they will appear in the watch app. From here, you can keep track of the current state of your pinned journeys all on one screen from your watch, or tap any individual pinned journey to see more info about the calling points The watch app also now uses dynamic text sizing, so if you use the watch app and have your watch’s text size setting set larger, the app will respect this making it easier to read. Increasing the maximum number of favourite stations you can save

Description of Train Home

This app is for the commuters. Display all the National Rail and London Overground train departure information you need on one simple screen. No more searching, no more taps. Once you've set it up, open the app and the info you need is always right there in front of you. The app allows you to add stations that you commonly travel between to your favourites, then the departure board for those journeys will appear right on the app's home screen as soon as you open the app. The list is ordered by distance from your current location so the trains you're interested in are always right there at the top of your screen. If your device has GPS (iPhones and some iPads), when you walk into one of your favourite stations you can choose to receive a notification with departure times of the next few trains to your chosen destination. You don't even have to open the app to see when your next train will be, it just appears! As easy as that. If you use both an iPhone and an iPad your favourite journeys will automatically sync using iCloud - no need to set everything up twice. If your commute is even more fixed, you can also pin individual trains. Once you’ve decided on a departure, tap on it to pin it. The departure will move to the top of the screen and give you more details about where the train is currently. Once it sets off it’ll stay there, even when the departure has dropped off the station’s departure board, keeping you updated with the last station you passed through, your estimated arrival time, platform and any delays. All the information comes direct from National Rail Enquiries so will be as up to date and real time as the station boards. We're all creatures of habit, if you find yourself often travelling between the same stations (for work or pleasure), this is the app for you! Note: This isn't a journey planner. Only direct train services between stations will show up, the app won't suggest connections. But once you've found out the connection points of your journey, add them into this app to keep up to date with the train times.

  • My favourite app

I travel by rail a lot. I set up my favourite stations and journeys in this app, give it location access and as I approach one of my favourite stations it notifies me of the next train relevant to my favourite station x to station y journeys, the departure times, and platforms. I don’t need to look at boards in the station to find my train and platform. This app shows it to me all in advance, live updates, and bc I’ve set up my faves, It’s just finds my next train for me automatically. Amazing! And it has Apple Watch integration too which means I press a complication and see all the details on my wrist. And I can pin specific trains (time/destination/platform) to the top for easy access so if I don’t make the train I was hoping for I can make a back up plan and have it right there easy to see. And even without a plan, I approach the station, look at my watch and I instantly know the time and platform of my train departure. Amazing 👌🏻 this is also really good for when trains get cancelled and you need to replan your journey. Or if you just cba to plan your journey in the first place. It’s genuinely useful and not some crappy gimmick like most apps on here. Well done to the dev 🏆

  • Excellent Commuter App

Train Home is a really useful app to view direct trains running on your chosen routes between two stations on one page.

You can view the whole day worth of train departures if you wish. It is simple, no gimmicks and gives clear information of how your regular trains are running. I have been using it for a few years now and have not found a better one for my needs. Thanks you!

  • One of the best apps out there

Contrary to some of the negative reviews on here, this is an excellent app. In particular the predictive platform information is the best I’ve found (and I’ve tried a lot of apps).

The push notifications for platforms as you arrive at the station are also really well implemented.

Improvements I’d like to see are a way to save arrival platforms at one station (from a given starting point) and a widget would be great too.

Considering this is a ‘hobby’ app, it’s excellent and the developer is very responsive.
