Widget disappeared
Following an update to iOS 17.4 on my 15 Pro Max my Hodinkee widget has disappeared completely from my phone. I personally found it very useful for accurately setting time when I change my watch. Still accessible in the app but whereโs the widget gone? Hopefully a glitch which will be fixed soon.
Clock issue
Every time I change the clock to "default" it returns to LV, very irritating, I understand advertising/cooperation but that's what these settings are for.
Itโs Just A Bunch Of Advertorial
No longer for the watch enthusiast, Hodinkee is now just a marketing platform for ads disguised as โarticlesโ about watches. Everything is a plug, and gone are the thoughts including criticisms that a passionate watch collector might think of.
PS- minus one more star for the app trying to force a watch dial other than what I choose on me each and every time I open the app. I like the classic and I donโt give a mouseโs behind whatever special watch dial you all are trying to promote, again, as marketing. Leave it alone.

Iโve been reading Hodinkee since 2012 or 13. I look at the app all day long and I absolutely love it. I still watch the original Talking Watches episodes. I have to say though, I miss the old crew! But the new generation is doing a great job as well. Bring back the podcast but it would be nice if it was Ben who hosted and interviewed some of the older talking watches guests. I miss the old days of Hodinkee. But donโt get me wrong, I still love it! Keep at it!

No new watch face? Why so complicated?
The only thing you can โchangeโ is from quartz to automatic, should be able to swipe left or right for new high res watch faces. This new face is so busy I donโt even want to use it anymore. Why destroy something that was perfectly functional? Some of us use this app for time keeping. I donโt want to download a new app, just fix this please. I canโt believe I even have to say this? Supposed to be a one stop shop for watch enthusiasts but you canโt even use this function. Idk this is just a very poor experience

Hodinkee shop is a scam
Expect no customer service from the online store if you have ANY issues whatsoever. I had to get my credit card company involved after a month of trying to get the company to take back the BROKEN watch they sent me. This has been a nightmare. The store now complains that they are understaffed and canโt handle the returns and customer service issues. Youโve been warned. DO NOT BUY A WATCH HERE.

Great app! Informative and professional
This is a highly polished app that works beautifully. The content is polished and highly professional, and very timely (excuse the pun).
My only wish is that the clock display might be more configurable so that for instance you could choose the clock/watch face. So for instance a Speedy Mk40 instead of the HODINKEE LE, or a Rolex or some other?
Thanks to the developers and content providers for their gear work.

Awful change to the clock setting screen.
The clever, clean, accurate clock setting screen has been replaced by a gaudy complicated piece of skeuomorphism that is harder to view and understand.
Hodinkee have badly lost their way.

From a longtime Watchville userโฆ
Retiring the app and forcing that audience to use this app makes no sense especially given you took away one of the most important features - the timepiece set feature- you know the clock to set your timepieces against every so often.
From a user stand point this was stupid to not include it.
From a marketing standpoint - this was even stupider.
Knowing mechanical movement users will always need to use this feature- it will always bring them back. It will always be a source of why someone may find an article.
Bring it back. I know Iโm not the only one.
