  • Finally, something I can use with hearing aids

I have been needing to wear hearing aids for hearing loss and tinnitus for some time now, but being a health care provider I needed to be able to use a stethoscope. I have Bluetooth hearing aids but could not hear well enough connected to the EKO to the hearing aids. I bought a pair of behind the ear headphones, that I can put over my ears and lay around my neck, that work fantastic! I had a Littmann Cardiology stethoscope that I wasn’t using, due to bad tubing. I am using the head of the stethoscope on my Core EKO and I hear so well, even better than my newer Littmann IV stethoscope. I am so happy with this product!! I wish they had this available years ago when I worked as a flight nurse.

  • Works!

I work on COVID-19 patients almost everyday. The Bluetooth capability has allowed me to keep a better distance from patients. The slight lag took some getting used to but I’d rather deal with that than contract the illness.
  • pulse not recorded

I installed and 4x reinstalled the Eko iOs App. The pulse is shown during test however it does not appear in the recorded file! I have to type the pulse in the add notes section which is annoying cause I tried to limit touching my phone after VS assessment! Please fix then I will change my rating!
  • Eko stethoscope

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stethoscope. The only thing I wish was better is the ability to not have to reach for my phone to engage the app every time I use the stethoscope. But it is still pretty darn awesome! I do not regret this purchase.
  • Love the device

The device works smooth along with the app. This is my favorite digital stethoscope.
  • Great product!

I have had the first Eko and then the latest version of their product. The Eko app works very smoothly. This helps overcome the unilateral hearing loss. I had the Littman version of electronic stethescope in the past, and the Eko surpassed it in every way. Eko has great battery life, sound quality and just works great. The wireless option with the app is fabulous for the COVID-19 pandemic we are in. Thank you.

  • EKO During COVID-19 Isolation.

I’m a ICU nurse and use the EKO Core stethoscope without the ear piece and tubing during patient care while in isolation. I can sync with my iPhone and AirPods allowing me to leave the phone outside the room. I place the stethoscope in a bag for patient assessment.
There are a few problems I have experienced. One is the need to charge the phone within 6-8 hours of a 12 hr shift.

It would also be helpful to have some way of identifying if the unit is on or off and the ability to “wake up” the unit after being idle for awhile. Otherwise, one has to turn the unit off and back on then re-sync with the app.

Great amplification and sound deadening while in isolation rooms with noisy fans. I can hear heart and lung sounds very well. I just leave the stethoscope on the patient’s chest and/or stomach and perform patient care while listening to the body. Great time saver and I’m not restricted by the length of my stethoscope hose.

EKO Core is a great product but there is room for improvement.

  • Easy auscultation in noisy environment

Auscultation can be difficult in a room with a loud air scrubber running. So the amplification really comes in handy. I connect to my phone via Bluetooth and then listen with my earphones. Then I hit the toggle to turn off Bluetooth so that I can hear ambient noise without the need to remove my earphones.
The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the phone screen has to be on with the app open for Bluetooth to connect to the stethoscope. I would prefer to have my screen off to save battery life.

  • ER Experience

I purchased Eko device during the hight of pandemic because I needed a compact stethoscope device that reduced clutters that I had to carry while seeing patients in ER. This device fit the need. Compact in size, easy to protect by covering it w a glove, easy to disinfect, quick to use and put away in a pocket. Able to hear despite negative pressure pump in patient’s room. It is inconvenient and have to adjust to having a earbud in my hear while talking to the patient. However, I was safely and conveniently auscultate patients including COVID PUI with asthma/CHF,etc. Had a major set back with bluetooth connection for about 6 wks that was very frustrating & trying to resolve it by email was futile. I was appreciate of the support team who arranged for a zoom mtg. The issue is resolved now. The device connects seamlessly. It does drain phone battery and this is something I’ll have to collect more detailed data to give feedback. I find it necessary to carry my Litmann stethoscope tube with me in case of any malfunction w Eko. I prefer Littmann chest piece with the Eko attachment. Support team has been responsive. Emily has been very responsive, accommodating and instrumental in my continued use of the Eko attachment device. In a busy, loud ER in this unpredictable pandemic period, this device is innovated and has the edge.

  • Great device for anyone who works in a noisy environment!

Use this onboard the ship where I see pts. It has improved my ability to auscultate in a very noisy environment.
The added ease of cleaning and and the BT advantage in these times is indispensable.

I have had no issues with the App. It has performed to my needs w/o fail and records well for me.
