Confusing interface. Sets don’t keep sync. BEWARE

I bought 4 sets of 36 lights. I was able to get them all synced to the same pattern the first time. Now when I got to change the pattern the app makes me connect to the first set every time, which does change color, but I have no way of changing the others. Have tried to do resets, still no good.
Customer service number is good till 4pm. It doesn’t get dark until 5:30 here, so it’s not easy. It’s really bad, because now I have to spend 3+ hours to take them all down to return them.

Slightly disappointed

I purchased 4 strings of itwinkle wifi lights from Costco. After downloading the itwinkle wifi app and putting the lights on the house, I struggled for hours over a few days to finally get it sorted out and working. I have a background in technology and that likely prevented me from quitting and taking the lights back. The directions are not overly clear and of course I only glossed over them the first time. I made mistakes in the set-up and then had to retrace my steps and review the online directions to figure it all out. It's a bit quirky, but once I got them working and talking to each other I was able to control all 4 light sets in unison, which is very cool.

I am disappointed with the capabilities of the app, it could do so much more, so I truly hope that more investment is going into improving the ability to control the lights. I see a ton of potential fun.

My kids 14,16 & 18 think these lights are pretty cool as well. Not easy to impress teenagers with technology these days.

Simple & Very Usable

Got this to program our GE 36 LED Color Changing Lights. The app works well and is simple to use. Very happy with both the decorations and the app.

Waste of time

I hard mounted this crap to my porch then tried to set it up. I should have tested this trash before I put it up. I will be ripping it down and taking it back. STAY AWAY.

Lights are ok but app needs serious work!

Purchased lights from a vendor in Edmonton. The light strings themselves would benefit greatly by having longer lead wires so the wifi receivers and voltage transformers could be more easily located.
The app is atrocious. Very confusing to link multiple sets together. Very limited ability to customize light patterns. Drops the link signal often causing user to have to reset and reprogram everything. Why would there not be a time scheduling feature for this app. That should have been the "no brainer". After programming, the individual wifi connections from each string should disappear leaving just primary visible. This app needs serious work or you will find many customers will be returning a product that could and should be very successful!
Shame!

Bad bad bad

This app is bad. Doesn't have basic things like a timer or proper customization. Returning both sets of lights.

Disappointed

Update: obviously the developer is not taking the voice of its customers seriously. There have been no further updates to this app, and therefore I can only assume that the developer has no intention on providing regular updates. This app is in serious need of an overhaul and needs new features to address common issues, and provide more options. I would not recommend this product at this time, based on the functionality at this time.

These lights are much better than the Bluetooth version offered in previous years. The app needs a lot of work, but there has been 1 update already, so hoping that the developers will provide quick and continuous improvements. The app needs much more attention to custom settings. For instance, I want a deep orange colour for Halloween, but the colour wheel is very difficult to get precise. A feature to add a custom "quick" colour of your choice would be useful. Right now, there are only a few colours you can select from the buttons below the colour wheel. Also, would be useful to enter your own colour into one of the pre-programmed patterns, for instance having an orange constant light with white strobes. The custom setting really doesn't work well at all, again you have to try and select the colour from the colour wheel and only get 1 press of the button, you can't run your finger around the wheel to select the exact concentration of colour. The custom setting also only had a "50% jumping" pattern with no other options and it really doesn't work well even at a fast rate. Please make the app more customizable and allow inter colour pallet changes with the pre-programmed patterns and custom settings. These lights could be so much better with a few improvements to the app and user interaction. How about allowing full customization on the lights? Allow a mixing of patterns or allow customizing your own pattern such as your choice for chasing, flashing, strobing, alternating, ability for each bulb to be a different colour, instead of groups of 4 colours before the next 4 are different. Hopefully we see something before Halloween and certainly before Christmas time. Planning is needed by homeowners to design there light show etc.

Disappointed

Great idea. Terrible execution. App stinks. After messing with it for 2 hrs, decided, it wasn't ready for prime time. App never controlled lights. Clumsy controls. Darn good idea.

No clue how this works

I followed the instructions on the app and on the website, not able to reset or connect to a set of lights.

I cannot use either the local or direct connect method.

At Costco? STOP! Don't buy this amateur hour hardware/software.

I purchased the GE branded WiFi enabled lights at Costco today and have been trying to get this app to work correctly for over an hour.

It will either work wonderfully for you, or fail miserably.

Tl;dr Put the box back on the shelf and go get a Costco churro. This isn't ready for prime time.

The app:
- has many typos and is full of illogical English that makes following setup steps a guessing game

- doesn't seem to actually ever pair the lights to your local wifi

- has no solution when the "reset" feature doesn't work and the lights stop responding (mine were stuck in a dim orange and I couldn't reset or control them. In a frustrated rage of unplugging and plugging them back in quickly about 30 times in a row, they started working again)

- there is no hardware factory reset button on the device. If something goes wrong it appears you can brick your lights

For 50 bucks for a string of Christmas lights, especially with GE's name on it you expect better. Great concept, poor execution.
