Used to be a great game
This used to be my favourite game, but eventually I stopped playing it because there were no new cities and the challenges were the same, repetitive ones. I decided to start playing it again recently and it’s gone absolutely downhill! I manage to play one level in the new city, then the game freezes up and doesn’t let me do anything. I close it, start again, and same thing. Its almost like it’s trying to run too many things at once and can’t keep up with itself, the page is cluttered with all the side challenges and stuff and it’s just distracting and nowhere near fun anymore. Not being able to play more than one level at a time is more than enough reason for me to delete the game altogether.

Self control needed
So had this game on my various different devices for maybe two years now! I have a hack for getting through levels…… don’t play for a good few days! When you don’t play for a good few days they give you awards for you coming back which include infinite lives and other power ups for as long as 24 hours which means you can get through so many levels without losing lives.
I think the whole point of these games is to get you so addicted you don’t want to leave it a few days between plays, I was like this for a while as they had different missions and challenges within the game and very few and far in between adverts, however as you progress, the ads get more frequent. I hadn’t played the game in weeks and thought I would go back and try again, got 24 hour infinite everything! I guess this is a tactic to get you hooked but I’ve worked it out and I can dip in and out without a problem!
Just takes self control!

Adore the game but some slight issues
Have had the game for a couple years now and it’s been really fun to play and watch grow throughout the times. Really like that even when I get stuck and quit for a bit it’ll give you presents when you come back granted after a couple days but still cool. Also it’s not an impossible thing to go through the game without paying, it may take time but thankfully not a must. There are issues at least with one of the levels for me that got extremely annoying, in New Delhi for the first restaurant the kulfi only loaded one at a time and never really got any faster even when fully upgraded and it made it almost impossible without spoons (which I didn’t buy, just did the wait thing) and it didn’t help that quite a few levels the customers only order multiple kulfi per person and it only loads one. Also not sure if this is everyone or maybe just me but it’s been quite a few times I’ve spent spoons to continue play but the game spits me out and when I reload it, it still took my spoons without giving the extra play but that’s probably a small bug. But other than that it’s been a really good game that I’ll play for hours.

Ruining by Performance Issues & Ads
I love this game, I’ve been playing it for years, as the reviews from 5 years ago tell you, it’s fantastic!
However, year on year, performance has been getting worse. No disagreement here that the tasty graphics and animations all look great, but do there have to be so many? Especially in the backgrounds of levels and maybe cut a few in the level select? It looks like that’s having a significant impact on loading speed. I counted 8 seconds as the fastest and an excruciating 20 sec wait for the upgrades screen. Glitches have also been increasing year on year. Now the sound and screens going out of sync, freezing levels and all out app crashes are common place. In 30mins I had 3 glitches, and now I only get about 20m on average before the app crashes.
Yes, the forced ads between every 2-3 levels are irritating, but idk, maybe that’s what you have to do to keep the game free. ( although I’d rather pay you for no ads). Maybe there was an option, I’ll look again.
But guys, I’m coming at this from the pov of someone who really wants to play this game, I suspect others are going to lose patience really quick or give up on the app crashes all together. You might not be able to continue without ad funding, but surely the performance can be looked into? The animations don’t need to be so long or so numerous if you can’t reduce the file sizes. The loading speed is going to start losing ppl.

Global cooking!!
Updating my review: I stand by my original feelings about the global feel of the game but the developers seem to have settled on these hard levels that are impossible to beat without boosts. I get it, boosts make money because you spend spoons but the amount of hard levels has gotten ridiculous. I’m playing in South Africa and wow, they have back to back hard levels. I’m very frugal with using boosts because I like to win without them if I can but I’ve blown through so many boosts to get through the second restaurant. Boosts aren’t fun to use(not to me) so being dependent on them is a no go. Sadly I think I will be looking for a new game soon, something I can play and win without needing a helping hand.
Original review:This game just took over for me for my favorite cooking game. I played cooking fever religiously but found that game to be frustrating for some levels. I have all of the restaurants in the city, island and mountain so I played it a lot and Cooking craze is better. like most apps there is the cash grab aspect of later levels but I expect them to try. The varieties of food that you cook are so much cooler and that’s why I play! I want to look at food. I love this new island theme and all the different ethnicities represented, keep it up! Bring on Brazil and Ghana and Sydney. Let’s visit Shanghai and cook in a Vietnam food stall. How about cooking with the pyramids of Egypt in the backdrop or a coastal food truck in Dar Es salaam?

Response from developer
Thanks so much for the suggestions! We'll be sure to pass them along to the right teams for their consideration!
Been Playing Since 2018
This game is the only one I’ve found that keeps your interest. Just when you start to get bored, you end up in a new city and have to start fresh and new! Most games get boring because they become too easy over time, but in Cooking Craze, you’re always being challenged in new cities, and it keeps things interesting because there’s no chance to become bored with it! (until you’re in the last city for a year waiting for a new one to be released).
The only 2 improvements I can suggest are (1) to add the “Go!” button back for the serve streaks. Once you’re in the last city, the levels for the streaks are random all over the city, and that button used to take me straight to the next level. Now I have to scroll around till I find the blue one. Honestly, it only takes a few seconds more, but that button is quite convenient when you’ve been on the last city since Tbilisi was the last city. The other improvement suggestion would be (2) the option to turn OFF boosts. For instance, say I just won an event and have an hour of the booster where the dishes are automatically served to customers. Now I’m on a combo level and can’t time my combos correctly because the dishes keep getting served before I’m ready so I can’t make combos like I need to in order to beat the level.

Slow update
When will a new country be available? It's been many months.
New cities
I’ve been waiting awhile for a new city after Singapore. Do we know when this is coming?
It’s good, but you have to pay to level up
90% of the game is great, but some of the levels are impossible to pass unless you pay (35 spoons) for extra time or customers, no matter how hard or many times you try the level and they don’t offer a cheaper amount of spoons either for that booster. It’s irritating. And honestly, other than that I would give the game a 5 star… I would love if you could make the game more fair for everyone… not everyone has the $$ to buy all the spoons required to pass the unpassable levels. And make it so all levels can be passed with skill rather than needing to purchase extra time. Otherwise though, thank you for the great game.

They ENCOURAGE you to spend money!!
UPDATE: I made it to New Orleans and at this stage I’m ready to file a class action lawsuit against big fish games and the developers of this game. If you have made it past level 5 without using boosters then great for you. I am getting ready to start screen recording myself play and upload it so everyone can see the cheating that takes place. Big fish games you are disgusting at what could is a fun game to play but you ruin it with your cash grabs and messing up boosts that we have.
Original Review: The thing is that this game is fun but the blatant CHEATING that this game does is unreal! It may be a level where you need 24 people but they will only send 23 then giving you the option of buying more people. To which you must have a certain number of spoons, Oh wait, I had to use my spoons on the last level that you cheating me on by not sending the people or me having to have a certain amount of money but sending people in to but $2 worth of ish!! It’s fun but this game will really have you wanting to throw your phone across the room and I’m over it!!! I need to learn how to develop a game because this the new way to make money! The Tokyo level is by far the worse! Unless you have money to keep spending on boosts you can forget it!
