Fun game, too many crashes
The game now crashes when I select Continue from the main menu, AND when I try to Load my save data. (The save data was working, but now crashes the game, trying to load Slot 1:3) The controls are a bit wanting too… it is far too easy to accidentally select an opponents card to take at the end of a match when trying to view the cards to see which one you want.
EDIT: After loading other save files (slot 1 file 02) and scrolling the list, I finally got slot 2 file 03 to load, then immediately saved to slot 1 file 04 to see if a backup helps when trying to load a save file later.
Before finally loading, the game crashed several times (~5-6 times)

Keeps crashing.
Love this game but it keeps crashing.
Disappointing glitches ruin a good classic
I love this game but this port of it is absolutely dreadful
The visuals are improved from the original - but there are so many glitches with this version that ruin it. It regularly crashes during gameplay and if you haven’t saved your game you’ll lose your progress
There’s also problems with the sound, it cuts out randomly and you have to scroll off the app and back on to get it running again. There’s also issues when you try loading the game. Everytime I try log onto my game, it will show the loading bar, then when the loading bar fills it will just crash completely and need totally rebooting. It takes around four or five attempts to get it to boot up and stay open.
It’s very disappointing overall. I’m a huge fan of Final Fantasy and the soundtracks are a big part of why I love the games but when there’s so many issues getting sound to play or when the game randomly crashes deleting your progress if you’ve not saved - it’s totally ruined a good classic. I hope that the developers will fix these issues as it’s what they do for a game that doesn’t work properly

Constant crashes when loading a save file or continuing.
It’s very frustrating sitting there for 10 minutes trying to open a save file only to have the game crash over and over again.
A simple google search shows this is NOT an isolated problem. I’ve attempted uninstalling/reinstalling and this did not help the problem whatsoever.
Some people say that turning cell data off on the IOS version in the app settings helps but this is not an option on IpadOS.

Works fine
I am 15 hours in and its only crashed once or twice. Its fine
Great port with one bug
I haven’t finished it but so far this is a great port surprised to see it was the ps4 remaster instead of the original so this is the best looking version of the game. I mean if your interested in this game I’m sure you know how great final fantasy 9 is so no need to review that. There has been one bug on new devices though that is a bit annoying when opening the game and pressing continue the game will instantly crash it will do this a couple times and then on the third try it works. So far no crashes when playing but it does feel a bit uneasy that the game could crash and you lose all the progress you’ve made hopefully the developers look into this for one more update.

Great game- but performs poorly
I bought this game some time ago, and it was riddled issues amongst the worse was definitely the amount of times it crashes when loading your save file. It was literally unplayable due to the simple fact that you cannot load your save.
2 years on, and I tried to give this game another go with a new save file and still, the same issues persist. I open app, I press load game, it loads and crashes taking me back to my phone screen.
What a dissapointment.

Can’t load saves
Game is great, but I tried loading up an old save — the game crashes when loading any saved games, old or new. iOS 16.5.

Good game when it works.
The game looks and works well on iPhone…when it works. There is a constant problem of crashing on startup with it raking more than a dozen tries and a phone reboot to get work (this is with iOS 17. The crashing also happens when playing but rarely enough that it isn’t a big issue.
Gameplay is good with responsive touch control. The save menu is slower to load than it needs to be and frequent saving is important due to the crashing issues and the need to repair from a. Saved fake instead of auto save.
All said, this is a decent—if buggy—port. There is no new content. If you liked the original and can’t get past the bugs it is worthwhile
