  • It works!

Having to renew my passport, I did not want to pay $10+ for a photo. Did a google search and came across this app. Took a few tries to get it right. Submitted photo through Walgreens app and printed for around 33 cents. Mailed in passport application and within a week got an email saying it was processed. A week later, got an email saying it was printed. I typically don’t write reviews but felt I needed to in this case. Get the app, follow the instructions and you can’t go wrong!
  • Save $$$$

Me, my husband and our son all needed passports at the same time. Getting our pictures done at the post office was gonna be $15 a pop - $45 for all 3! No way! We used this app to take perfectly sized pictures for our passports. I sent them to be printed on 4x6s at Walgreens for a grand total of 99 cents! This app was incredibly easy to use and saved us $44! Get it!
  • Don’t go to Walgreens or anywhere else!

I spent $15 at Walgreens to have my passport photo taken for me. The employee seemed really tired and fed up, so I was scared to ask to have my picture retaken. I looked awful and was really upset how it came out.

Passport photos are stuck with you for 10 years. Feeling really unhappy with the one that was taken for me at Walgreens (not to mention the ridiculous price), I downloaded this app and thought “there’s no harm in trying this out.” Due to poor lighting in my house, I took my own photo at school while standing in front of a plain white wall under the fluorescent lights in the hallway. Yes you read that right. I took the photo myself. It took a couple of tries to position my shoulders and extend my arm in a way to where it didn’t look obvious that I was taking a “selfie.” What’s great about this app is that the outline (where you keep your face in place) is completely accurate and the app saves two identical 2x2’s in a single frame just like the ones at Walgreens. I uploaded the photo onto the Walgreens app which costed less than a dollar to have them print it. I stapled that baby onto the passport application and prayed that they wouldn’t find a reason not to accept it. Luckily, they did!! This app works and I’m so glad it exists.

    Developer Response

Thank you Joce_xo for the review! I feel you...I started making the app because of a bad experience I had getting my photos at a pharmacy by someone who was slow and didn't care. Having someone care makes a big difference! I'm glad you were able to figure out better lighting as many people struggle with lighting at home. I've also had success at schools and offices using white walls as well as whiteboards. Thanks again for the feedback!
  • Excellent app!!!

This is the proud product of my friend, who is passionate and serious about traveling around the world. Knowing that he created this app for passport photos, I know he must have researched and designed it in a way that would pass the bar of the toughest critic - himself. I tested it and loved it. A tool with no nonsense, gets the job done, and most importantly, designed intuitively. I wish more apps are like this out there.
  • Great money saver!

I have very few apps on my phone and have never written a review for one, but Passport Booth is so awesome I have to. I have spent so much money on passport photos over the years, but no more. For my last passport renewal, my son took my photo with the app and I paid 47 cents to print it at Walgreens. I was a little nervous when I submitted it to the State Department, but I just got my passport back after only three weeks! Thank you!
  • Just what I wanted!!

Cost $0.36 instead of $14 - love it! Took MANY shots till I got the one I liked, just be warned that if you want to keep some pictures to compare, you must save each one immediately after taking it. App doesn't store previous photos that I could tell. But that's easy enough to do via What's App. Ordered the double photos in a 4x6 from Walgreens for a total of 36 cents. Only need to cut them. Will share this with family & friends!
  • Great app!

I recently used this app not only for taking pp photos, but having them printed. I originally planned to print them myself, but technical difficulties forced me to go to Plan B. The app is easy to use and the photos showed up as promised in about a week, all without having to leave the house. I'll definitely use this service again!
  • Great idea but....

Taking a photo that close to someone's face will give a really distorted wide angle image. No way to pinch to zoom, so we can stand a bit further back? Not sure government will accept this. It certainly doesn't look like the long compressed lens shot shown of the studio lit blonde.

Adding a star for responsiveness of developer. But for people with tiny heads (like children) this app will create a fisheye effect due to the wide angle of the iPhone lens. If you have a 2x lens adapter it would probably work perfectly.
  • Very Satisfied

Needed a photo quickly after the one created by the Fedex Center was deemed to dark to be acceptable. This worked out perfectly. Took the photos on my phone then sent them straight to be delivered at a local drugstore. Note that with an iPhone the photos are sized to come out 2"x2" when printed as a 4"x6" photo (although the photo did print slightly darker/more yellow than it appeared on my phone, so watch out for that if you print locally). Wish I had used the app in the first place rather than wasting time & money getting them made elsewhere.
  • Worked for us!

My girlfriend and I used this to take our passport photos when we recently renewed our passports. We printed 'em at Walgreens for a total of 59 cents, instead of $12-15 per person passport photo joints charge. We received our updated passports back tonight with the pictures we took using this app. Huge savings of time, money, and hassle. Well done!
