  • No Indonesia info on app

While I Purchased the book titled “Southeast Asia” which contains a significant portion of Indonesia, and specifically Bali, there is no information on the app that includes Indonesia. Therefore the app is useless and I do not want to lug the large southeast Asia book on my travels.
  • Hangs on ebook downloading

App downloaded fine, account created with no problems, scanned purchased book with no problem, but downloading ebook hung at 81%. Needs work!
  • Can’t use the app

Downloaded, had an update and know cannot see the book I purchased. Tried to rescan the QR code and now it’s invalid. Sent email to support and no reply...
  • Useless

There is no point in downloading this app - all it gives you is the link to the e-book. Here I thought I might get something useful like a phone-friendly version of the book (isn’t that the point of an app) but that is certainly not the case.
  • It’s just fine

Register, unclick the spam radio box, download the book. Easy. Quite a few people voicing opinions that seem to be based on absurd expectations, ineptitude or simply miserable existences. A decent extra offering. Don’t be scared.
  • Well.....

I don’t know exactly what I expected but it turns out to pretty much be a ‘nothingburger’. I mean, really, just two restaurant recommendations and three hotels noted for Sintra? And while I am at it...the book’s info on Sintra was really light, too.
  • What’s the Fuss??

Got the Iceland book as a gift and discovered that through this app I can download a copy for free in iBooks. When I saw the reviews though, I was not expecting much. However, one major complaint that you had to give them permission to email you promotions etc is not true. After typing in my email and a password, the already-checked box says you give them permission. I unchecked the box, they accepted, and I was still able to download the book. Some of the features of the book are located in the app, but I was also, separately, able to download the complete book to iBooks. So this reader is very pleased!

  • Very Cumbersome

At first, I thought this app was simply advertisements. After a while, I discovered there was an e-book which is what I intended to purchase. However, it is cumbersome to page through, find the index or subject matter, etc. The hardcopy book is much better.
  • Unable to use

Unable to access the scanning module thus worthless. So sad. Purchased book to use this on my trip
  • Useful only for downloading purchased city guides

I have the iBooks app and so there was no problem downloading or opening the free guide that came with the hard copy guide to Budapest, I had purchased. They are identical to each other so that is great and I haven’t gone in n my trip yet but these guides have a good reputation so I’m not worried about the guide fulfilling its purpose.
BUT this review isn’t for the book, it’s for the app and the poor impression I’m left with of the company.
I am now going to dump this app because what it really is, is a marketing tool for an old fashioned “travel agent”, disguised as an app. Under their About Us it states “one simple booking...” and that no purchase is required. That’s a sales pitch.
This app is for downloading travel guides into an e book app and for contacting people that will book your trip for you. That’s it.
“Blogs” is organized by date only with no other option to sort for destinations.
“Plan my itinerary” is an email form to contact a travel agent.
“Destinations” my purchased book didn’t show up here but there was a list (with a pretty picture behind the text) where you can purchase presumably some sort of guide that’s different from....
“Ebooks” which is a text list (no pretty picture) of guides you can buy which cost more than “Destinations” yet have the same names. My book DID show up here but you can’t open it in app. There is no explanation of the differences between them.
I opted out of all their marketing sharing of information plans so I better not start getting emails.
All sizzle and no steak, as they say.
