Lap Counter User Reviews

Top reviews

Does count laps but nothing more

....And timer will stop if phone goes into standby mode

Does not track individual lap times.
Does not store workout sessions / history.

Once you finish the workout there are 2 options. 1. Email results (only laps, lap goal and lap time). Or 2. Restart session

Up to you whether you think your getting value for money.

Just a total - no further info

I was looking for a lap counter that could give me som stats about my swims. It tells you how many laps and how long over all you took but doesn’t give any time per lap.

This could be a great app for people with out expensive smart watches if it gave a tiny bit more info.

It does indeed count laps

It works very well at counting laps - you have to touch the screen for 2 seconds so that you don’t do it accidentally, but it’s not awkward to do while running.

It’s handy to be able to set up the number of laps in advance, and see the percentage you’ve completed.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t save any data, such as time per lap or total time. I wouldn’t think it would be that hard to at least keep track of workouts and total times. I’m going to keep looking for an app that does that.

Worthless App

I did ONE lap and it said I need to purchase the full app to move on. Worthless! Why bother to have something free if it doesn't even calculate one lap!

Response from developer

Hi Curleelox... I can only think that you may not have input a larger than one lap input... This app is designed for runners, swimmers etc. that want to log how many laps till they reach their goal. I know for me, when I run the track, I just can't keep track of how many I've done.

Extortion

If there's one thing I won't do, it's to be extorted into paying for an app to continue or see my stats. Nowhere does it indicate that you should buy the app until you're 75% done with your goal. Like the other reviewers that I failed to read before hand, I was 75% through my goal of a 2 THOUSAND Meter SWIM. They want me to stop my swim, dry off, so that the Touch-ID will work, remove my phone from its waterproof case, then purchase your app? I would have paid way more if they weren't so underhanded about it. DELETE!!!! Charge 99 cents for the app like everyone else, or give on free try, but not a partial free try. Deleting this underhanded app right after completing this review.

Hi SCW1313, Never wanted to think of what I was doing as extortion, but I understand from your end what that might look like. The new version 1.5 (coming soon) will have a disclaimer, warning, message regarding ONLY working up to 75% of any goal the user would like to work towards, before requiring an in-app purchase. I would like to think of it as "try before you buy"... I value your input, and have adjusted the app to better reflect what is happening. Sometimes as a developer, we are so far into the programming that we forget the end result, may not be what all users are expected to experience. Never wanted it to be underhanded, as you say in anyway. Hope you'll rejoin us with the new version. I appreciate your comments. John

Great functionality, deceptive marketing

Not what in-app purchases usually means!!! This lap counter is perfect in its simplicity. It is exactly what I need to count and time swimming laps. However, you literally get to 75% of your goal and the program locks. It will not let you continue without making a purchase. This is very unfortunate, as this is the kind of app I would pay a couple bucks for. However, the way that they approached this did nothing except irritate me when I only had 1/4 of my workout to go.

To the developer: in app purchases are supposed to be used to offer additional functionality. If you want to take the approach you are taking, ten there needs to be a warning when the app is first opened to say that you may trial the app through 75% of your initial goal, and then you will need to pay to continue. Deleting app now.

Puellaluane, Thanks for downloading the app. I've read your concern and agree. While that was never my intention (I always thought folks read the description, but it is rather long)... I have in version 1.5 (coming soon) adjusted a one time pop up screen with instructions that the app will only work up to 75% of your goal. That way, like you say... there is a warning, or message about how the app works... Thanks for your input. It was well noted and I have adjusted per your request. John

Awful

When you're 75% through your goal it locks you out and says you need to pay to continue. I was running my personal best and lost my time because of it.

Response from developer

Sorry you did not read that this app is free with "in app purchase"...

Scam!!!

Must make in-app purchase to exceed 75% of your goal. This app is complete bs!

Response from developer

Sorry you did not read this is a free download with an "in app purchase"
