I used to go to different places to gather all this information. And other places can’t do FERS. This puts it all in one place and is so convenient and helpful. It helped me see when I can actually retire and allows you to put in different scenarios to make your decisions. It also has “Other Income” areas to allow you to enter outside pensions or savings. I upgraded with the $5. It is absolutely worth every penny. One of the absolute best apps I’ve ever downloaded. The graphics are beautiful and very helpful in seeing the movement of your income. Seems to work great! I am getting close, less than 5 years out and I am starting to make some serious plans for when I leave. Enhancement
This application is great for providing an estimate, but it can be improved. I would recommend making changes that would incorporate standard Step increases since those are pretty much set on a standard timeframe. This would increase the accuracy of the persons Top 3 years for retirement and will show accurate pay increases by year.Show lessJwallen21
Final Decesion
Help me make the final decision on when to retire from federal service. Unlike other retirement planning apps and websites, this app was made for the federal worker. Simplified and combined all the different options a federal employee needs to know and is customizable to add in other financial information not a part of the federal system. Useful Tool, but Could Do More
This is a helpful tool that provides a simplistic means of aggregating all your Govt retirement income streams to give you an estimate of what you can expect to make when you retire. A few suggestions to make it better:
- For a paid app, it would be nice if the developers updated this app on a more regular basis. The app lacks some polish.
Maybe you could add a feature to save certain retirement simulations for future comparison and review, so you don’t have to keep punching in the same numbers repeatedly.
- Needs more customization options to account for different retirement circumstances, such as overseas service, which counts as 1.7 years for every 1 year. There are probably a host of several other unique situations. Including them only makes this app more accurate.Show lessJoes tavern shack
Does Not Calculate Properly for All FERS Situations
I tried this app, but I found it to contain significant flaws in doing calculations for FERS retirees who separated from Federal Service before reaching the age of 62, with less than 30 years of service. There is no FERS supplement if you retire or separate early. Also, if you have TSP, you know that 20% is a minimum Federal tax amount that is taken from each withdrawal, thus your “income” is not going to be the amount that you ask to withdraw - it will be 80% of what you withdraw. The calculations are misleading.
Also, if you buy the app on iPhone, the app on the iPad does not acknowledge that you have the paid version.Show lessSupermom46
A really good start
It has been a very helpful app. I do wish they would add the ability to include 401K plans with the same setup as the TSP. For now, you have to do your own calculations outside of the app and then bring those in like they were and additional source of income like a savings account or a part time job.Show lessAnother fine day
Good but could use more features for the paid version
Please add the ability to show graphically when a person’s TSP account will be out of funds based upon an inputted average return rate and amount of withdraw each month. If you really want to get fancy, you can break this into traditional and Roth.Craigers145
Great TSP App
I’m enjoying the versatility in the app and having a better picture of my financial outlook. I understand this doesn’t include healthcare costs and other unforeseen costs, but having the ability to list multiple pay and retirement accounts is nice.CDWIDENER
