  • Great app, please add sound!

Nothing else does what this app can do. I have needed something like this for years.

The best improvement would be to add sound so I can hear the notes being played back. Please put that in the next update and I will change to 5 stars!
  • Pretty Awesome, needs improvement

I wish there was an option to just take out the logo. Cause i print these out
  • Easy

    Simple to add power chords
  • Needs work,

Bought this primarily to jot down alternate tunings,
Can not edit an existing custom tuning very much, must start from scratch each variation,

Interface clunky with very small mixed fonts,

Can't strum tunings, only one note at a time, not useful for me.

Hi, I'm sorry your were disappointed with the app. However, as of version 3 a number of improvements were introduced including the ability to edit custom tunings as requested above, but also some cosmetic improvements that made the fonts and icons more consistent. I hope you will consider giving the app another try. Thanks, Phil
  • Can't change note length?

This would be a fantastic tabbing app if it allowed you to change the note length you are entering while you tab. You can change the overall default length, but there's no way to change from 8th to 16th notes when entering individual notes. At least not as far as I can tell and if you can do this, there is nothing in the documentation to indicate how to do it.

Hi, I'm sorry the app didn't meet your needs. I am pleased however to report that as of version 3 note lengths are supported as well as large number of other features. Hopefully will have another look and if you could revise your rating that would very much be appreciated. Thanks, Phil
  • Wonderful app for $1.99!

They've thought of almost everything needed to scribe 6 string guitar tablature: Custom tuning, copy/paste, zoom in/out.
  • Good platform, bad execution

I like the idea of just taping on the string that I want to use when creating tabs, but the app runs slow and choppy at times causing me to delete and redo to many times. Also, it needs more editing options like for Ukulele.

Until they fix what's wrong, look elsewhere.

Hi, thanks for your feedback and sorry the app hasn't worked well for you. At first I was surprised by your review, but after investigating further I realised that there is a potential performance bug. The majority of users are not affected hence why I was not aware, so I really appreciate you letting me know. I have submitted a fix (2.2.3) that should be with you this week. I also included some other performance related changes in so hopefully you find the app much better. I hope your experience has not put you off trying again, and please feel free to let me know if the performance is still not acceptable. One last thing, what do you mean by mean by more editing options like for Ukulele? All the Ukulele options should be included so it would be great if you could let me know what is missing. Thanks again for your feedback. Phil

Hi, following user feedback basic playback was introduced in December 2016. I hope you are still enjoying using the app.
  • Guitar Notepad

This is a poor inefficient editor.

    Developer Response

Hi, I'm very sorry you didn't like the app. I regularly get positive feedback from users on how quick and easy it is to use so it would be very helpful for me to understand what specifically didn't work for you. If you could email me I would really appreciate it in case there's anything I can do to make the app better meet your needs.
  • For two dollars, pretty good app

Easy to use tab editor and having the fret board on the same screen is really nice. My first gripe, which considering the price might be unwarranted, is that you cannot indicate how big the bends are.

That's when I realized that when you play the tab back, you get only the chords or notes without effects; you can mark a note "bend" or "vib" or "term" but there is no effect when you hear it. Too bad, because I otherwise would have found it great to try composing some licks when I don't have my guitar.

Otherwise, great app for the price. Maybe future releases will have working modulation for notes and chords.
