True North
Contrary to most prior reviews, this app works as it should on my iPhone 13 Pro. I compared magnetic N on my accurate hand bearing compass with N from the app, OUTDOORS away from ferromagnetic objects AND the “true north” setting ON (so lat/lon/alt are shown). The app finds N roughly 6 deg left of the magnetic bearing as it should for my mag declination of -6. If, however, I deny the app my GPS location, it agrees with mag N.shortJCW6
This app was my childhood
I always loved using this app, from entertainment to running from the DEA naked in the desert, this app has always exceeded my expectations, until recently….
Now, this app is nothing but baloney, giving me nothing but inaccurate directions. Shame on you Applemr.same
I used to love this app
I don’t know what going on but I used to use this app all the time but now for some reason it’s not responding what so ever. I’ll remove the app and all the data then redownload it. It does ask me to calibrate, when before it would often have me recalibrate. The compass won’t move at all. Says I’m pointing north at all times. It shows that city I’m in but that’s it. It won’t tell me what direction I’m facing at all. Help! I fit. Understand what’s happening. All my location services are on. The system service are on the calibration is on. I thought maybe it was my service area but everyone else’s phone who has the same carrier has no problem using their compass. I have no idea what’s happening. It would be nice to be able to manually select an option to recalibrate or something.KayleeRobin

With the Apple Watch having compass and elevation compilations on the watch face. I’m surprised that we’re unable to have a Lock Screen widget for the iPhone to do the same.
I embarked on a trip where I accidentally left the house without my Watch and this is something I want to check often. Getting into the compass app is not as easy as checking a Lock Screen widget.

This app can be something more
Imagine if this compass pointed to your friends phone. It would sniff out your best friend's phone signal and you could find him in a large crowd. Maybe he's lost at sea and you need the bare minimum to find him. I don't really use this app, but I think it has the same potential as Jack's compass that points to the thing he wants most. It could also be used to find a lost phone.4 scrub
Stopped Working
I was reading reviews about how someone had the same issue I did, and tried the way they fixed it but didn’t work. My app still shows north and will not show anything else. I did switch off the direct north button then went back to the app and it’s still stuck on north. I might have to delete the app and get a different one if this issue is not resolved.SPNSam99
Fixed - Unlocked True North
At some point the compass stopped working and was pointing to North only. I tried deleting and reinstalling and finally gave up. Then I went into Settings on my iPhone and scrolled down to Compass and took it off of True North. Now it works great !! Hope this helps someone else with the same issue.Rosebud5197

Inaccurate
This app would be used a lot more by me and would be a lot more useful if the actual directions was accurate. For example, recently I was testing this app and I compared it to a real, physical compass. I faced north, so the physical compass said I was facing north, and the app says I’m facing south. Also tested the maps app against it, and north on compass was once again, completely and utterly wrong. This app is useless to me, please fix if possible.førgotten

For the most part, this is amazing. It is totally accurate. HOWEVER,if your phone does not line up with you,the direction is not correct. Pls fix this asap2023fl
