SSL VPN with IOS 17
Works once you have set up a self signed certificate and imported it to your iPad. Router is a Draytek 2860.
Brilliant VPN for excellent router
Really easy to set up and works brilliantly. Top software to have if you need access to your home network from anywhere.
Lots of options available for configuration if you need it, too.

Worked perfectly until recently, now won’t connect

IOS 16 doesn’t work
Doesn’t work on iOS 16. Was already terribly outdated. Now doesn’t work at all. Also Draytek vpn is slow. Support have no answers.
The app works fine but???
The app works fine but there is no simple step by stem guide explaining how to set up the router.
For SSL VPN you need to generate a self signed root certificate. Then use draydnns to get a local Let's encrypt certificate. Then make this local certificate the default certificate.
Don't forget to download, and install, the self generated Root Certificate to your phone.
Once the certificates are in place the rest of the documentation seems OK.
Ipsec Xauth is more straight forward but ensure the keys are installed in general Ipsec set up rather than the VPN profile.
Hope that helps.

Does not work
iPad mini 5 iOS 15, draytek 2960.
Online app notes useless for 2960.
2 days wasted.
PPTP works but Apple removed it for no good reason.
Windows works ok.

Stopped working
No longer works after IOS update.
Does not route data correctly when on the same subnet.
This works really well, IF your local subnet is different to the remote subnet. But if they are the same the data is routed to your local subnet not the remote one. I was told to check the setting to use remote gateway, but that setting does not exist! If it did, it would be perfect. But it doesn’t so this is pretty unusable.

Cannot connect SSL VPN to 3900 router
Try as I might the IOS client just won't connect to our Draytek 3900.
We can connect without problem using the Mac and Windows clients.

if you upgrade to iOS13 recently, it is cause by iOS13 enhance certificate validation. It needs to upgrade router's firmware and re-generate certificate, you can reference here https://www.draytek.com/support/knowledge-base/6077 , thanks!
