Charger Review

After reading so many negative reviews about this app I was a little hesitant about installing it. So I did my research and I did not see any problems that I couldn’t warrant not trying at least the app one time. So I downloaded the app and followed instructions. My star Capella, LSV, has wet cell batteries in it and I inputted the information the best I could and everything seems to be working fine with the app. It’s reading all the data coming from the Lester charger and it asked me to reboot and unplug the charger and I did that and it seems to be working fine. the only question I may have is I’m not exactly sure if I picked the correct Lester charger to input into the app. Thus far I see no problems with the performance of the app so I’m going to assume Lester fixed all the issues that I saw over the prior years from negative reviews from other users.

Never connects

Connected for first 3 months now can not ever get to connect

Pointless

This app has rarely ever connected to my charger. Have tried every possible way to attempt to remedy: uninstalled and reinstalled. Reset and repaired with the charger. Installed the app on other devices. It basically says it’s trying to read charger data over a dim dashboard screen and then kicks right back to the main screen where you look for your charger. Using the lights on the actual charger to try and understand what is happening is doable, but requires you to refer to the manual if you want to know what the status lights mean. There’s also no way to change the function or setting in the charger without the app. But the app doesn’t work, so… hoping for the best.

A lady trying to understand

I should of read the Reviews this has been a big headache for me
Had to guys friends to help still nothing I paid a lot of money for this charger and the app is so annoying and difficult to understand now in 2024 they have the top notch AL and upgrading all the apps and my five year-old grandson knows how to use all the other apps. This app so confusing please please upgrade this app so we can understand it and know how to use it. Thank you

Won’t connect

It scans, then shows the screen for a second then goes back to scanning. What a waste of time. I bought for the app ability and it doesn’t work. Not happy.

Return if purchased does not work 95% of the time

Starts to connect, then goes back to the reconnect page and will not let you in to view any information most of the time. Out of two days of owning this have only been able to get into the charger once after multiple hours of trying.

Still not connecting fully

It is now less than one star. When I first got this is worked flawlessly. Then I did the 1.3.5 update and now it sees the charger starts to sync. The lights on the charger flash so there is a handshake starting. Then all the sudden it go back to the select charger screen. It is now completely useless to me. Go back to the proper chargers that had meters on them.

Love the charger, the app sort of…

Most apps can be closed by swiping but not this app. You have to ‘disconnect’ the charger within the app’s directory FIRST or it will never reconnect without disconnecting a wire from the battery. Muscle memory closing apps has prompted me to revert to a hardware solution. I installed a disconnect switch on the negative lead so in the event I close this app, like every other app, I can at least reset the charger by turning a switch off then back on. That seems to fix the problem with this charger’s permanent Bluetooth connection if one leaves the app to take a phone call which also causes issues requiring a manual reboot. Suggestion: Put a big red disconnect button on the dashboard screen within the app or a reset button on the charger itself. Anything besides having to remove a terminal to reset the system.

It would be great if it would find the charger consistently.

I consistently get the error message, no chargers found even though the charger initially appears and tries to go through the process of collecting data. It then cycles through and displays ‘no charger found’ then brings the charger ID back up as a clickable selection. Goes through the process of collecting data then reverts back to ‘no charger found’ error message. I got this app to work ONCE at installation, but has failed every time I try to reconnect. I bought this product to be able to monitor the charge cycle. It’s actually worse than the Power Wise charger. At least with the factory charger, I have an analog display to monitor the charge rate.

Works when it wants to

Bluetooth connectivity is absolutely horrible. The first day I used it, it connected and worked fine. The second day (today) I have tried countless times and ot connected once. I’ve turned Bluetooth off/on multiple times, shut my phone off (this seemed to make to work once). I’ve unplugged/plugged in the charger. Sigh…
