Needs high quality output
This is by far one of the greatest drawing apps for trying to get that old MS paint vibe. The only problem is that it won’t let you save in a high resolution format so the picture always looks grainy and blurry and has artifacts all over it, almost perfect, but missed on that last part.
wow
I just realised I still have this app on my iPad and it’s cool
Thank you
I dont know why its nearly impossible to find bucket fill editors on the app store, but I’m thankful for this one. Yes there are minor UI complaints like the default draw setting, and the undo/redo buttons being two taps away instead of one. But It imports, it exports, it bucket fills - so its what I need. Thanks.

I love it!!
As an artist, sometimes art programs get overwhelming with just how many options you have to work with. I love the limited tools of ms paint, so this app is perfect for me. I love using this app to either doodle or create full pieces. Its a very good creative reset for me.
Awesome
Love it, only wish undo and redo were at the top of the screen without having to open menu
Can not get it to put down more than one pixel at a time
I believe this app is out of date/sync with the latest iOS. I can select the paint bucket, but it only puts in one pixel at a time. Same in paint brush, even tho you can select area shapes. Seems non- or minimally functional. The image moves around, like a moving target, the paint bucket doesn’t respond. I just want to fill some areas of a drawing with color.

Actually really good
Works really well, and the UI is surprisingly slick and easy to use. Most drawing/image editing apps are very cumbersome but this is a joy to use.
Cool game
I like this for thumbnailing basic ideas or to just doodle when I don’t have paper on hand, I love the method of drawing this app uses I think it is convenient for people that don’t always have a stylus, I love this app and will continue using it as a part of my creative process, thank you Paint 98 :)

This is actually my favorite app
One of the most useful apps on my phone lol
Perfect and maybe requires a little polishing
Paint 98 is absolutely fantastic. Simple to use, everything functions exactly as expected when comparing it to MS Paint & is delightful to doodle with. The only reason it’s not 5/5 stars is because of my personal preferences/ideas with experience in other drawing applications. Therefore I will list what I believe should be added to make Paint 98 tick every box.
Palm rejection. Whenever I lean my hand on the screen it leaves a frustrating blemish on the canvas since to my knowledge Paint 98 cannot differentiate between hand & Apple Pencil. Preferably there would at least be an option to turn on palm rejection for the sake of my short fuse.
Layers. Yes, I am aware the addition could compromise its authenticity since MS Paint also doesn’t have layers either. However due to the fact that I view Paint 98 as a modernised version of MS Paint and am a lazy artist I find it reasonable to request adding layers. I’m not suggesting to the extent of other drawing applications but just the bare basic features that come with any drawing software; rename, alpha lock, selection layers, custom opacity, merging & clipping layers.
The ability to toggle whether the entire toolbar is visible or what it currently is; clicking the top left which shows what tool you are currently using to reveal the rest of the toolbar.
This is more comparably a suggestion based on my idea. Animation that is similar to FlipNote Studio. Paint 98 already resembles FlipNote studio so why not go one step further & create your own emulation. Custom fps, a bar at the bottom that displays each frame, onion skin etc.
This isn’t exactly necessary & is more of my own wish. On iPad there’s something called Quick Note which if used appears as a digital post-it note on the corner of your screen. You can use Quick Note to type or, as I’ve discovered, technically draw. It’s extremely limited but the only option I have for when I want to simultaneously doodle & do other things on my iPad without obvious obstructions since I possess a world record attention span. Hence it would be a daydream come true for Paint 98 to obtain the same ability. I mean being able to not only play Genshin Impact but also scribble funky little illustrations?! Even the thought of it satiates my monkey brain.
That’s all pretty much all of what stands out the most to me but nonetheless Paint 98 is still a joy to fidget with & I will always recommend it to anybody that will listen. :)
Sincerely, Hazel. <3
